Who is Paula?

"I didn’t just study healing... I lived it."

Born into a community where vulnerability wasn’t always safe and strength often meant silence, I learned early how to carry pain quietly. Navigating cultural divides, toxic relationships and the deep ache of invisibility. I spent years searching for my voice and when I finally found it, I realised it had been there all along guiding me toward this work, this purpose and this path.

My transformation didn’t happen in one big moment. It happened in the small, quiet decisions to keep going to face myself, and to choose healing, over and over again. That lived experience sits at the heart of everything I do.

Therapy with me isn’t about surface-level fixes. It’s about getting honest with your truth, reconnecting with the wisdom you already carry and rewriting the stories that no longer serve you.

This work invites courage, but it also offers compassion, support and space to finally heal… with heart.

My Approach

Through a unique, integrative framework, I bring together evidence-based therapy with depth-oriented, soulful work. I hold a Master’s in Contemporary Therapeutic Counselling from the University of Hertfordshire and am trained in EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Clinical Supervision. I’m also a fully accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

My work is shaped as much by lived experience as it is by professional training.  Over the past 25 years, I’ve worked across the NHS, trauma-focused organisations, private practice and community settings, supporting people through complex trauma, addiction, anxiety, grief, depression, domestic abuse and the quieter, often unspoken pain that lives beneath the surface of everyday life.

At the heart of my approach is a deep respect for the connection between mind and body. I work integratively with psycho-nutrition, recognising that how we nourish ourselves is not just physical, it is emotional, relational and often rooted in our history. The patterns we hold around food can mirror the ways we soothe, protect, restrict, or disconnect. When we begin to understand and shift these patterns, it can create powerful movement not only in the body, but in how we feel, relate and live.

This is not about quick fixes or surface-level change. It’s about gently uncovering what sits underneath, and supporting the body and mind to come back into a more regulated, connected and resilient state.

Alongside this, I bring a strong body-based awareness to my work. I previously ran a government-commissioned therapeutic massage practice for individuals recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, an experience that continues to inform how I understand trauma. The body holds what the mind cannot always process, and lasting healing requires us to work with both.

Who I Work With

I work with adults from all walks of life, people who are ready to get honest, face what’s been buried, and finally step into who they truly are. My clients often describe our work as equal parts challenging and nurturing; a place where they can speak the unspeakable, feel deeply supported, and begin to make sense of their past. Whether you’re navigating a crisis, stuck in cycles you don’t know how to break, or simply yearning for something more aligned, I offer a space where clarity and change are not only possible but deeply empowering.

What You Can Expect

This isn’t just therapy. This is transformation. A space to grieve and grow. A space to speak the unspoken. A space to return to yourself.

Healing isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about coming home to who you’ve always been. You don’t need to have the answers. You just need to be willing to start and I’ll be right there with you guiding you with clarity, healing you with heart.
